Lock Up is a task task-based reality show where contestants infamous for controversies will be locked inside jails as prisoners, with cameras monitoring them 24/7. The first season of Lock Up, known as Lock Up: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel, premiered on ALTBalaji and MX Player on 27 February 2022.
Actress Kangana Ranaut hosted it, and the finale, also known as the Badass Finale, was on 7 May 2022. Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui had won the competition with actress Payal Rohatgi being named the runner-up.
About Lock Up
According to the format, 19 contestants, known as Inmates or Khaidis, who were accused in the outside world had to battle it out to earn basic necessities and win over the audience and the Host, Kangana Ranaut. The contestants had to perform several tasks to showcase their personalities and win the competition.
Actor Karan Kundra played the role of the Jailor, and actress Tejasswi Prakash entered the show during the final and grand finale as a Jail Warden. After 70 days, the contestant with the highest votes walked away with freedom and the champion trophy.

Winner of Lock Up
Munawar Faruqui, an Indian stand-up comedian and singer, won the first season of Lock Up. He bagged the coveted trophy, a car, a cash prize of INR 20 lakhs, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy. His most famous controversy was when he was arrested under the Hate speech laws in India on 1st January 2021 while performing a stand-up concert in Madhya Pradesh. He was accused of making offensive jokes against Hindu deities.
