The Aussie cricketer, Shaun Marsh was on fire in the first-ever IPL season in 2008, and no wonder why he became the Orange Cap Winner in that season. The orange cap was handed to him because he scored 616 runs in just 11 matches. His scoring average in this season was higher than any player, which was around 68.44 along with an explosive strike rate of 139.68. He really showed his batting skills and power when they had a match with Rajasthan Royals, where Shaun Marsh alone scored 115 runs in just 69 balls.

The Fair Play Award is actually given to the team that keeps the spirit of the sport alive, and shows everyone what actual sportsmanship is, you know? In IPL 2008, this first-ever Fair Play Award was given to the runner-up team, which was Chennai Super Kings.

Sure, in 2008, when IPL first took off, the prize money wasn’t that big, like it was just Rs 4.8 crore. Rajasthan Royals got this prize money of Rs 4.8 crore, and because CSK was the runner-up team, they actually got half of what Rajasthan Royals won, which is Rs 2.4 crore to be exact.
